Little girl gets sicker as leaves fall from tree

I am looking for the name of a movie, or book. I saw it in the 60's. It was about a little girl that was sick. As the leaves fell off the tree outside of her window, she became sicker. Thinking that when the last leaf fell, she would die, someone secured that last leaf on the tree. She became well.
